I couldn’t be more excited to finally share West Texas Skies with you all. I’ve been working on this pack since last summer, taking my time to continually hunt for new ideas, unique textures, and expressive elements to push it as far as possible.
For years, I’ve wanted a way to truly capture that wide-open, ambient post-rock sound on the OP-1 Field and OP-XY, and it’s finally here.
Inspired by cinematic soundscapes and expansive, guitar-driven music, this collection draws heavy inspiration from bands like Explosions in the Sky, Hammock, Stars of the Lid, and Mogwai. It’s designed to give you instant depth, emotional movement, and deep atmospheric textures right inside your hardware.
What’s Inside the Pack:
10 Legato Guitars (The Star of the Pack): Meticulously multi-sampled with natural slides, hammer-ons, and authentic articulation to bring unprecedented guitar realism to your instrument.
35 Ambient Atmospheres: Built from scratch in Ableton. Following the workflow from Bristol, these are sliced and loaded directly into the drum sampler so you can chop, sequence, and sculpt your own custom atmospheric beds.
11 Multi-Sampled Guitars: Pure, rich guitar instruments ready to play.
7 Granular Guitar Multi-Samples: Complex, slowly shifting textures designed for ambient backdrops.
7 Guitar Atmospheres: Multi-sampled atmospheric textures with deep sustain and character.
Chopped-Up Guitar Chords: Far more than standard chords—these are expressive, atmospheric sliced phrases crafted specifically for performance in the drum sampler.

I’m also really proud of the demo song I put together entirely on the OP-1 Field. Even if you aren't planning to grab the sound pack right now, I’d love for you to give the track a listen—especially if you're a fan of Explosions in the Sky, Hammock, and that whole post-rock sound. I put a lot of heart into dialing in that specific tone and energy.
P.S. At the last minute, I decided to include my Mist multisample preset pack as a free bonus with this release! It includes 74 layered, textured atmospheric sounds that complement the West Texas Skies vibe perfectly. Right now, Mist is available exclusively for the OP-XY, but I'm already working on bringing it to the OP-1 Field soon!
