The project includes one of the new scale-based presets with single notes on the white keys and chords on the black keys, plus matching bass, lead, and keys presets that are all in the same scale.
This has honestly become such a fun way to play the OP-XY. Having the single notes right there with all those chords sitting on the black keys makes it really easy to start playing around and stumble into something musical.
The full pack is being built around five scales:
Minor
Harmonic Minor
Dorian
Lydian
Phrygian
And I’ve gone a little crazy with it.
For every scale I’m making multiple pads, basses, leads, and what I’m simply calling “keys.” Some of the keys are actual keyboard sounds, but others are plucks, flutes, synths, and other sounds. Calling everything “keys” just made the most sense and keeps it simple.
The whole collection is looking like it will end up at around 180 presets.
Everything is created in C, but you can transpose the presets right in the OP-XY settings, so if you want to work in D, F, A, or another key, you can move the whole thing wherever you want.
I’ve put a ton of time into this project already, and I’m probably more excited about it now than when I started.
